Internet broadcaster Live365 has selected Smooth Jazz and More to participate in it’s Holiday Card Promotion. The Internet radio station will be broadcasting at the PRO level for the next 6 weeks. This gives the station a chance to increase its outreach and help defray its administrative costs.
“It’s one of my favorite times of the year.”, says Mike James, the station’s longtime internet broadcaster. “Not many stations play Smooth Jazz holiday tunes. Its one of the biggest listener outreaches of the year and I’m thrilled to be one of many radio stations taking part in the promotion.”
James (left), who runs the Internet radio station in his spare time, got the idea of broadcasting holiday classics with a smooth jazz and new age twist from a radio station he used to listen to back in the 90’s. “KKSF in San Francisco used to play this kind of music every year at this time. It was a unique experience, very refreshing and original. I always loved listening to classics from Mannheim Steamroller, David Benoit and many other New Age music artists. I especially enjoyed the music of Vince Guaraldi. You know it’s Christmas when Vince’s music gets played constantly right after Thanksgiving. I never get tired of it.”
The PRO station will be broadcasting at 128kbps until January 5th, In addition, beginning this Friday, Smooth Jazz and More will also broadcast Christmas music at it’s normal 64kbps bandwidth. This is the radio station’s 13th year of broadcasting Christmas music to it’s listeners. It’s also the 5th year in a row the station will provide holiday favorites 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Listeners can access the higher quality stream through its individual webpages at Live365, the station’s webpage, iTunes Radio and Tunein Radio.
