The Lesson…Stand Up For What You Believe In!

IMG_5501.JPG

Democrats systematically got their asses kicked last night when their base simply didn’t show up at the polls last night. Predictably, Republicans and their base of lunatic crazies voted more often and rode a wave to taking over the Senate.

Republicans can crow all they want today. In fact, they have a reason to do so. But if you think this was a mandate, your sorrowfully mistaken. Because if people don’t stand up for what they believe, you’re gonna get left at the altar, and that’s exactly what happened last night.

The moment Allison Lundergan Grimes walked away from President Obama during her campaign, I correctly predicted she would lose, and frankly, she deserved to lose. The voters know bullshit when they see it. The Democrats have been horrible in messaging. Tout the benefits of the policies Obama created instead of being reactive to Republican talking points! Say the word Obamacare like its a positive instead of a negative!

If there’s a silver lining Democrats have in all this. The Wall Street Wing of the Democratic Party was removed from power, and that’s a a very good thing. With Republicans in power of both houses until 2016, maybe Democrats will finally get the message and play the same game.

Sometimes you gotta get dirty!
