US Government’s Seizure of Gaming Site Leaves Smooth’s Football Picks Hanging!

Last year, Smooth’s Football Picks used Bookmaker.com for our odds to all NFL games. But earlier this year, we were surprised to find the website was seized by the federal government.

The US Department of Justice and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement branch of Homeland Security seized the domain name in May on behalf of the Attorney General of Maryland. As it turned out, the website has been accused of engaging in illegal gaming activity.

Federal investigators in Baltimore set up a phony business and handled $33 million dollars in transactions from Internet gamblers in a lengthy sting operation that led to the indictment of two online betting companies and their international owners. In all, 11 associated bank accounts were seized in five countries and 10 Web domain names were shut down.

It is illegal for sportsbooks to conduct business online. Sports betting operations have been popping up overseas since the ban 5 years ago and have been relying on unsuspecting customers to use their US bank accounts to complete sports betting online transactions.

Any online transactions used with a US credit card could be considered illegal and subject to fines and possible jail time. It’s important to know that before getting into worse trouble!

I think that everyone has the right to do whatever he wants – if someone decides to bet – it is his own money and choice!Moving
