I was in a familiar position…driving.
Nearly 10 years ago, my wife and I were on our way to work (I used to work at WSTM in Syracuse, NY.), listening to the Howard Stern show, when word that a plane crashed into one of the Twin Towers. We thought they were joking, as they always do. Once I got into work at I realized that it wasn’t a joke. That started nearly a week of 14 hour shifts covering the terrorist attacks.
Fast-forward to last night. I was on my way home for work, listening to WCBS-AM when the news anchor made the announcement, “OSAMA BIN LADEN HAS BEEN KILLED”. My reaction, like what happened nearly 10 years ago was the same, disbelief…Relief, joy, uncertainty.
What’s next for the “War against Terrorism?” Trillions of dollars spent, thousands of lives lost…all for one man.
Hopefully, this is the beginning of the end.
