As Comcast Takes Over NBC, Olbermann Mysteriously Disappears

The FCC finally approved the sale of 51% percent of NBC Universal to Comcast, the largest cable operator in the United States.

Strangely enough, MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann announced on his show, “Countdown” that Friday’s edition would be his last. Simultaneously, NBC released a statement saying that Olbermann contract had ended.

Coincidence…or a shakedown?

Granted, sighting sources from his days at ESPN, Keith Olbermann was not the most pleasant person to work with. But as MSNBC’s #1 ratings magnet, it makes no sense getting rid of your best player on the team when you don’t have a suitable back up.

I can only wonder what’s next for NBC, as Comcast starts to push it’s weight around.
