Bobby Thompson, "The Shot Heard Round The World", R.I.P.!

Bobby Thompson died today. He was 86 years old.

In 1951, he hit a home run that sent the New York Giants to the World Series, and deflated the hearts of Brooklyn Dodger fans to utter the phrase, “Wait ’til next year”.

The radio call by play-by-play announcer Russ Hodges made the moment the greatest home run in baseball history.
