While you’re at it “Gutless Cowards”; take a look at the 2nd Amendment!

It never ceases to amaze me at the downright stupidity that comes from conservatives and the Republican Party nowadays. The “hot button” topic of the week for the GOP is reviewing the 14th amendment.

Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky (a.k.a. Senator Idiot) said he supports holding hearings on the amendment right, which granted citizenship to “all persons born or naturalized in the United States,”

For those of you who aren’t familiar, the 14th Amendment was adopted in 1868 in the aftermath of the Civil War, which granted to recently freed slaves.

My question is, “Why is this topic even being discussed?” I can tell you why! Because GOP politicians have created a smoke screen, barking about immigration failures. Like Arizona’s immigration law, the measure is racist, short-sighted and geared towards scaring white people into a false send of urgency.

If you really want to get angry, get angry at the companies who’ve hired illegal immigrants. Those companies break the law and more than likely won’t receive any reprimand in the courts. But, of course, GOP lawmakers will turn a blind eye to the infraction, because those companies are the same ones who finance their election campaigns.

Better yet, with another mass shooting in the United States taking place, maybe you should take a look at the 2nd Amendment. Naw that would piss off the NRA! Too much money!

Yup! When it comes to the constitution, these “Gutless Cowards” love to pick and choose what to follow!

  1. The purported 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution is and should be held to be ineffective, invalid, null, void and unconstitutional for the following reasons:1. The Joint Resolution proposing said amendment was not submitted to or adopted by a Constitutional Congress per Article I, Section 3, and Article V of the U. S. Constitution.2. The Joint Resolution was not submitted to the President for his approval as required by Article I, Section 7 of the U. S. Constitution.3. The proposed 14th Amendment was rejected by more than one-fourth of all the States then in the Union, and it was never ratified by three-fourths of all the States in the Union as required by Article V of the U. S. Constitution

  2. So, nimrod! According to your reasons posted on this blog, what you're saying is, that all African-Americans who's decendents were slaves should not be declared citizens of the United States. WOW!! PLEASE CRAWL BACK UNDER YOUR ROCK!!

  3. actually the point was that the 2nd amendment was properly ratified while the 14th was not. Also if the GOP which you seem to despise (I am not a fan of them either) wants to take it away then the 2nd amendment is much needed to avoid complete tyranny. The 14th was passed through unconstitutionally by the GOP (AGAIN THE ONES YOU DESPISE) YOUR blog entry is at odds with itself because defending the 14th amendment is defending the GOP (the ones that passed the amendment) while at the same time calling them stupid. I take it by your use of the term "nimrod" you would rather resort to name calling instead of getting the whole history of the subject (14th amendment) of your blog entry.

  4. I find your analogy utterly ridiculous. This all took place over 145 years ago! The Republican Party back then is not what it is now! Same with the Democrats! Things change! Policies change! We evolve! There's no sense saying that all this is illegal! The statute of limitations has passed! The 14th Amendment the law of the land! Water over the bridge! The point is, what do we do about it now? If you change one thing, what's to stop from changing the whole?

  5. Actually the Republican Party is the same as it was back then. A party of Big Government for big corporations. The Democratic Party embraced a very limited federal government until the election of 1912. The thing that can stop them from changing all things is the amendment process. I can understand that you are blogging about your opinion on this and that is fine but you argue for usurpation of the constitution which is the law of the land. Anyway, I understand that history is not really your main purpose of this blog and some things can come as shock. Truth is this is probably the first time it has been brought to your attention that the 14th was never properly ratified. Good Day and I hope you enjoyed your blog traffic.
