For WTVH, It’s The Bitter End!

Last week, an auction was put together to sell off what was left of what some had called, “the Crown Jewel” of Central New York. Granite gave Brzostek Auctions the task of selling assets of WTVH-TV on 980 James Street in Syracuse.

Everything from chairs, desks, office furniture, old typewriters, pictures, posters, you name it! It was sold off piece by piece, with proceeds to pay down Granite’s massive debt to its creditors and investment bankers.

A skeleton crew of a WTVH news team still work at the station to produce a 6pm and 11pm newscast. That will change soon, as a dedicated studio will be set up to run it’s station newscast from WSTM, just down the street at 1030 James Street (My former employer.).

Once that’s done, there will be nothing left of WTVH but a memory. A sick, disgusting example of capitalism gone haywire!
