Plaxico Burress Must Learn From His Mistake!

Former New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress appears before a judge for his sentencing in a Manhattan criminal court. The hero of Super Bowl 42 was sentenced to two years in prison after accidentally shooting himself in the thigh at a nightclub and later reaching a plea deal on weapons charges. Plaxico Burress was at the top of the mountain only 17 months ago. A hero of Super Bowl 42 in 2008 who caught the game winning catch, the Giants were well on their way to defending their title the next season.

But it was an act of pure stupidity that sent everything crashing down. Now he will spend two years thinking about it in jail. My hope is that Burress learn from his mistake and become a better man when he gets out of jail. The last thing he should be thinking about is football. He should be concentrating about making better decisions for his future.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. They bear the brunt of his bad judgment call.

Let’s hope this is a sign…good sign.
