A few months before moving from Central New York, I received something in the mail regarding credit repair. I was rather skeptical.
I received many offer from companies in the past, claiming they can fix your credit. Many of these companies are scams, only out to take away your hard earned money and waste your time and effort.
When it comes to bad credit, there’s only two ways to improve your financial situation.
1. Pay your bills on time – If the information is accurate, it usually takes 7 years for any poor credit information to come off your report. If you pay your debt load on a regular basis, you will easily improve your financial health. You won’t be able to get any credit immediately, but you will be able to slowly gain trust in the banking industry as a responsible person.
2. Get rid of any credit cards you have – I hate credit cards! They’re a trap that will bring you down! Don’t use them! Unfortunately, they are a way of life. I recommend pre-paid credit cards or secured credit cards that are tied to your checking or savings account. That way, you only pay for items from the money on hand, and not on credit.
One company called Ovation Credit, has a website that specializes on improving credit. My suggestion is to be careful and ask questions.
If it’s too good to be true, it probably is!
