Michelle Kwan Ditches Vancouver Olympics For Grad School

Michelle Kwan

Figure skater Michelle Kwan won’t be going to the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia this February. The 9-time US champion has decided to attend graduate school at Tufts University this fall.

This might be a good idea Michelle to skip the Olympics. The thought of long days on the ice, coupled with the enormous talent that’s out there made this decision enevitable. Having to participate in regionals, sectionals and then nationals would have been too much for her.

Michelle’s in a good spot right now. With a career in the State Department awaiting her, she’s made the right decision to leave skating behind. After all, there is life after the ice.

Good luck, Michelle! We’ll miss you!
