Giants Releasing Burress Means Only One Thing…Prison Time!

Former Giants Wide Receiver Plaxico Burress

Plaxico Burress’ playing days in New York are over.

Yesterday, the Giants got rid of an old problem by cutting the troubled wide receiver.

The team questioned whether the Super Bowl 42 hero wanted to be a Giant or even was committed to follow team rules and didn’t want to waist their time anymore.

But by releasing Burress at this time, it probably means he’s going to be doing some serious jail time in New York State. Attorneys on both sides couldn’t agree to a plea deal and the court postponed the case until June.

The state has some very strict gun control laws, calling for mandatory prison time of about 3½ years for those violating the statutes, which is a felony.

A plea agreement this week might have changed things and Burress might still be a Giant. But now, it’s time to move on!
