Creator of Mr. Magoo Dies

Here’s an old, old commercial of Mr. Magoo selling beer. Talk about something politically incorrect? Could you imagine the MADD people being up in arms if this was shown during these times?

Anyway, the creator of Mr. Magoo died today.

Millard Kaufman was an Academy Award nominated screenwriter for the films “Take the High Ground!” and “Bad Day at Black Rock” He created Mr. Magoo in 1949, writing the short film, “Ragtime Bear” which the nearsighted, Rutgers University graduate first appeared.

He also became a first time novelist at the age of 90 with his book, “Bowl of Cherries”. He was 92 years old.
