When Glen Sather took over as President and General Manager of the New York Rangers in 2000, he was tasked to turn the team into an east coast version of his Edmonton Oilers teams.
But right now, the team is starting to look like an early version of the Kansas City Scouts. The Rangers, accustomed to starting fast and ending slowly has stayed to it’s usual script.
In his 9 years at the helm, Sather has gone through numerous coaching changes, brought in high priced talent who haven’t produced and has no Stanley Cups to show for it.
His term as an executive has been a miserable failure and it’s time for new leadership at the top of MSG.
Rangers fans (like myself!) deserve better!
