Former KYW-TV CBS3 Philadelphia anchor, Larry Mendte was sentenced to house arrest and probation by a federal judge this week.

Mendte had pleaded guilty to a felony charge of hacking into the e-mail accounts of his onetime colleague, Alycia Lane.

The judge sentence Mendte to the following;

  • Six months house arrest, of which, he must wear an electronic monitoring device.
  • a $5,000 fine.
  • 250 hours of community service.
  • Three years probation.
  • Special filtering device on his personal computer.
  • No contact with Lane.
  • Given the lenient sentence the judge gave him, Mendte should be damn lucky he didn’t get jail time for what he did.

    CBS should also be reprimanded for jumping the gun in firing Lane in the first place.
