Congressman John Murtha Shouldn’t Apologize For His Remarks!
The outspoken Democrat represents Western Pennsylvania, a mostly rural region of the state.
Last week, the Congressman stated that his region was filled with “rednecks” and they would have a hard time voting for a black person.
In an interview with WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh about the remark, he went on to say, “Particularly older people…They’re hesitant…They want change…but they don’t want to see things go too far.”
Murtha said that Obama would win Pennsylvania in this year’s election, but not by much.
It seems like whenever some people speak their mind, some would rather they don’t. Especially when it comes to race.
It’s uncomfortable…but it’s true!
And you know what many people say about the truth? The truth will set you free!
Unlike Congressman Murtha, Minnesota Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann (above) doesn’t have the guts to own up to her remarks.
In an interview with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, Bachmann referred to Barack Obama’s views as “anti-American” and “Unpatriotic”. She even called for an investigation to other members of Congress who may think likewise.
Bachmann’s statements have sparked outrage within the Democratic Party and moved it’s supporters to donate more than a million dollars to her opponent, Elwyn Tinklenberg. The GOP has distanced themselves from Bachmann, pulling campaign ads for her in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.
Rather than owning up to her statements, Bachmann blamed Matthews for “entrapment”.
“Chris Matthews did what Chris Matthews does. He’s very provocative, he wanted to have a provocative show. He laid a trap, unfortunately, I walked into his trap.”
My reaction? Don’t bullshit me! Just admit what you said! Tell it to me straight!
What you’re calling for is another round of McCarthy-esque hearings on Un-American activities. We’ve been there before! We’ve seen the lives ruined back in the 50’s!
Trust me! It ain’t happening again!
Stop being a gutless coward and own up! Your ignorance it showing, Congresswoman!
